A variety of up-to-date resources are used by the
department, including books, videos, and computer software
are all used in the teaching of biblical knowledge, church
history, morality and world religions.The subject is of
vital importance for all pupils, so that they can learn
about their own religious background, form well reasoned
opinions and also understand other peoples views and
religions.
Our biggest event this year was in December when 16
pupils were given the opportunity to go to the event
organised by Scripture Union called History Makers. It was
in the King's Hall and turned out to be an excellent day all
round. We had the opportunity to meet and listen to Olympic
Gold Medal winner Jonathan Edwards and other famous
Christians. There was also lots of chances to win various
prizes in many competitions. The very enjoyable day ended
with an afternoon concert which the pupils all loved as they
danced and shouted. (However, the teachers wondered if their
ears would ever recover!)
It was great to be with and meet over 2000 pupils from
all over the country.
